Born in Venezuela, Ronald Villabona started his musical studies at the age of 7 in the System of Venezuelan Youth Orchestras, where he served as concertmaster for several years in the Merida Youth Orchestra.
He was also a winner and the only representative of Venezuela in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011, which was the most viewed live streaming event from the Sydney Opera House, led by Michael Tilson Thomas.
Ronald received lessons from distinguished violinists such as Maurice Hasson, Virginie Robilliard, Alexis Cardenas, Philip Setzer (Emerson String Quartet), David Geber, Daniel Phillips, Dmitri Berlinski, Alex Kerr and Giora Schmidt.
With a Bachelor of Music degree from “Universidad de los Andes” under the guidance of violinist Simon Gollo, and a Master of Music in Violin Performance degree from Penn State University under the guidance of violinist Max Zorin, Ronald resides now in the U.SA.
