Kara Geren has always been passionate about the performing arts, and has been active in theatre, dance, and music programs since she was a child. A born and raised Texan, Kara is excited to continue sharing that passion through CMI’s artistic and educational programming.
Kara received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences from The University of Alabama in 2020. While there, she focused specifically on stage management and nonprofit communication management specialties. In 2023, Kara received her Master of Business Administration and her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre/Arts Management, also from The University of Alabama.
Additionally, Kara’s love for the arts has driven her to work with multiple organizations around the nation including the Sunshine Projects Foundation, Fredericksburg Theatre Company, SummerTide Theatre, Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre, McMurry University, Theatre Tuscaloosa, The University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance, and The Walt Disney Company.
In her free time, Kara enjoys supporting local and touring performing arts productions, belting showtunes in her car, and exploring San Antonio with her husband, Tristen, and their two pets, Stumpy and Figaro.
