Under the umbrella of the Classical Music Institute––a resident company of the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts since 2014––The Orchestra San Antonio (TOSA) will complement and serve the San Antonio community through performance, education, and collaboration.  

With a dynamic and forward-thinking approach, TOSA designs artistic programming and community engagement that values its social and civic impact through orchestral, ballet, and operatic music. 

TOSA’s commitment to innovation in the arts and education attracts a diverse array of performing and teaching artists from all around the world, contributing significantly to the cultural vibrancy and enrichment of the city. 

TOSA is the resident company orchestra at the Tobin Center, closely collaborating with other resident companies including OPERA San Antonio and Ballet San Antonio.

Leonardo Pineda

Venezuelan conductor Leonardo Pineda embodies a fusion of orchestral training, exceptional communication skills, and a refined conducting technique. He was described by composer Miguel Del Aguila as “An incredible conductor with a rhythmic clarity and musical structure that is very hard to find”. After receiving the distinction of 1st prize in 2022 for the Carlos Prieto Conducting Fellowship, he was described by Oacademy as "someone who has built an exceptional (and necessary) foundation for an ideal Music Director of the future”.
