The CMI String Quartet Fellowship offers an exclusive chance for pre-formed quartets to engage in deep study with the acclaimed Escher Quartet in San Antonio, TX. This Quartet Fellowship provides exceptional performance, mentoring and coaching opportunities to musicians with a high level of experience and commitment to string quartet development.

Fellowship Details

The CMI String Quartet Fellowship offers an exclusive chance for pre-formed quartets to engage in deep study with the acclaimed Escher Quartet in San Antonio, TX. This Quartet Fellowship provides exceptional performance, mentoring and coaching opportunities to musicians with a high level of experience and commitment to string quartet development.

The Escher String Quartet is a former BBC New Generation Artist and recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant. The ensemble serves as seasonal artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The members of the ESQ are: Adam Barnett-Hart and Brendan Speltz, violins, Pierre Lapointe, viola, and Brook Speltz, cello.

FELLOWSHIP BENEFITS

  • Four (4) quartet coachings, one (1) with each member of the Escher String Quartet.
