Administrative Project Coordinator

  • Time Requirements: Part time 15-20 hours/week. During summer education program (June 10-14, June 17-21) 30 hours/week.

Internship Summary

The Administrative Staff at the Classical Music Institute (CMI) seeks an Administrative Project Coordinator to help with planning, organizing, executing, and following-up for concerts and fundraising events. The Administrative Project Coordinator thinks creatively, works with logistics, and demonstrates a high attention-to-detail to assist CMI with important event and artist coordination. This Administrative Project Coordinator Internship will give hands-on-experience for students planning for careers in fundraising, event management, nonprofit organizations, and communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited institution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits attention to detail, commitment, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge in creating Excel spreadsheets.
  • Exhibits excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Enjoys meeting new people and has strong interpersonal skills.
  • Interested in classical music and working with youth.
  • Loves learning and having fun!

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assist Executive Director and Artistic Director with strategizing and planning fundraising events, coordinating with musician-artists and supplying them with needed materials.
    • Event planning includes concerts, arrival and departure of musician-artists, donor home fundraisers, and strategizing summer program.
  • Write correspondence and acknowledgment letters related to summer program sponsors and donors.
  • Develop organizational tools to track event planning and materials
  • Communicates and acts as liaison between Marketing Committee, Education Committee, and Artist Faculty.
  • Provides support for office products such as e-mail, electronic calendaring, word processing, and managing records on spreadsheets.
