Provide world-class education and a career launchpad for aspiring cello students of San Antonio.

Description

CMI Cello Summit is a recurring day-long event held at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. For our 2nd edition, we will welcome one of the world’s most celebrated cello artists and pedagogues, Dmitri Atapine, Professor of cello at the University of Nevada, Reno. Selected aspiring students will have the opportunity to perform for and along Dr. Atapine. In addition, these students will be accompanied by leading pianist and educator Dr. Hyeyeon Park, Professor of piano at the University of Nevada, Reno.

MASTERCLASS I

1:30–3:00 p.m.

ENSEMBLE REHEARSAL

3:00–4:00 p.m.

MASTERCLASS II

4:30–5:00 p.m.

GALA CONCERT

Requirements

  • A video of a solo, sonata or concerto that best demonstrates your current level of cello playing, with or without accompaniment
  • A letter of recommendation

Application fee

The application fee is $30 to play in the masterclass and ensemble. Application fee can be paid in person with cash or check or online via Stripe below.
